SP241 Esebeck’s Pursuit - LIART, France, 15 May 1940: Elements of the 6th Panzer Division supported by Pz 35ts and PzIIAs attack to clear one of two road segments defended by French infantry supported by Char B1 Bis tanks and 25LL AT guns. This medium-sized scenario has a game length of 5.5 turns and is set on half-boards 59, 63, 66 and 70.
SP242 Ciao Gurkha Ciao! – FATNASSA MASSIF, Tunisa, 5 April 1943: The 1/9th Gurkhas are assaulting elements the Italian Pistoia Division who are initially defending the board 9 hills but then must attempt to withdraw. This 5-turn tournament scenario continues Schwerpunkt’s classic “Somthin’ Gurkha Somthin” series.
SP243 Konrad Three - Szekesfehervar, Hungary, 18 January 1945: The Russian 69th Guards Rifle Division supported by IS-2ms defends two bridges on snow-covered boards 18 and 66 against a German onslaught of Panzer Grenadier Regiment 201 and its supporting King Tigers, Panthers and a PzIII flame tank. This 4.5 turn has heavy-metal action at its finest.
SP244 Hohenstaufen Hoedown- OSI, Hungary, 20 March 1945: The 6th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade, supported by T-34/85s, IS-2ms and an ISU-152 from the 49th Guards Heavy Tank Regiment attack to clear some stone buildings defended by Panzer-aufkläerungs Abteilung 9, and Jagdpanthers of the 9th Panzer Regiment, SS-Panzer Division 9 (Hohenstaufen). This is a medium-sized scenario set on boards 69 and 63. Game Length is 6.5 turns.
SP245 Matira’s Secret - DESSAU, Germany 21 April 1945: Americans from the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment, supported by an experimental M-26 “Super Pershing” attack to clear Infanterie Division Scharnhorst and its supporting King Tiger from an urban strongpoint on board 20. This is a tense, 4.5 turn, tournament-level scenario.
SP246 Triggerline Zoebel – HAUPTGRABEN CANAL, Germany, 16 March 1945:
Elements the 57th Guards Rifle Division and Stalin tanks from the 50th Guards Heavy Tank Regiment cross the Hauptgraben Canal via foot bridges and a pontoon bridge to clear a village defended by the 76th Panzergrenadier Regiment, supported by Tiger Is and Panthers from Panzer Division Müncheberg. Tension builds as the Russians cross the canal…will the German tanks hold or will they withdraw, leaving the soldaten to fend for themselves? This 6.5 turn scenario uses boards 44 and 70.
SP247 The Golden Arrow - SIEGEN, Germany, 2 April 1945: The American 13th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division is attacking through the village of Siegen to cross the Seig River and clear elements of the 3rd Fallschirmjäger Division from the hills on board 41. This scenario features a rare appearance by the StuPz IV in the ETO. Can your Sherman and M-10 GMC knock it out? This is a fast-playing, 4.5 turn scenario, perfect for tournament play.
SP248 Mango Tango - URDANETA, Philippines, 17 January 1945: The American 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 6th Infantry Division and supporting Sherman tanks attack the Japanese 2nd Mobile Infantry Regiment defending the village on board 10z. Hidden Type 97B Chi-Ha tanks will make it tough on the G.I.s in this 5.5 turn, PTO gem designed our own Hugh “The Filipino Scout” Downing.
SP249 Non-Stop Gurkhas - WITOK, Burma, 14 March 1944: Brian Williams makes a triumphant return to scenario design with this beauty that features the 4/10 Gurkhas defending the village of Witok. Infantry from the Japanese 33rd Infantry Division and two Type 97B Chi-Ha tanks must skirt the rice paddies and get through the wire in this 4.5 turn, PTO action that is sure to become a tournament favorite.
SP250 Dare-Death and the Iron Division - TENGXIAN, China, 17 March 1938: The Japanese 10th “Iron” Division is attacking with nine squads and two Type 94 tankettes to clear the Chinese 364th Brigade, 122nd Division from its board 51 strongpoint. This is a rare, 4.5 turn, tournament level, Japanese vs Chinese city-fight with so many Dare-death squads you better pull your chin strap down tight cause it's gonna get rough!
SP251 Kettenkrad Blitz - PLAVSOYE, Russia, 27 October1942: Thousands of players from around the globe have been clamoring for us to make a big, honkin’ kettenkraft attack scenario – well you asked for it so Mike Augustine designed one. This scenario features a bunch kettenkrads along with PzIVs and PzIIIs attacking to clear elements of the 260th Rifle Division and their supporting T-34s from a hill-top strongpoint. This 5-turn gem uses boards 8a and 9b.
SP252 Infamous Isthmus - ARMYANSK, Crimea, 8 April 1944: Mike Augustine rounds out our 2015 issue of Schwerpunkt with a bloody, Eastern Front action that features the 3rd Guards Rifle Division supported by ISU-152s, KV-85s and OT-34 flame tanks overrunning the German 50th Infantry Division and its anti-tank guns. This 5.5 turn action is set on board 69.
